Himachal Pradesh: Romancing Nature at its Best

Winter is that time when the allure of the snow clad mountain range, undulating valleys, fruit laden orchards, gushing waterfalls and lush plantations is at its peak in Himachal. It is the time when the natural beauty of this land increases by manifolds, ready to capture the fancy of the tourists. The Rohtang Pass is already closed for the tourists and Manali and Shimla receive a generous  amount of snowfall. No doubt ‘Himachal Pradesh India’ is so commonly googled.

During this time of the year, a large  number of tourists from all around the world undertake a trip to this Himalayan kingdom to enjoy the chilly weather and snowfall. Situated in the lap of Western Himalaya, Himachal Pradesh is an ideal tourist destination for honeymooners, thrill seekers and family vacationers. In this blog post, I am going to enlist three most prominent destinations of Himachal  Pradesh.

Shimla

Popularly known as the ‘Queen of the hill  stations’, Shimla is a famous destination in the state of Himachal Pradesh. This small hamlet in Himachal gained after the British made it their ‘Summer Capital’. Besides gorgeous sights of nature, there are various Catholic churches designed in neo-Gothic  architecture that captures your attention.

Manali

A favorite destination for honeymooners, Manali is famous for  its breathtaking snow capped peaks, verdant valleys and winter sports. There are several Hindu temples and Buddhist  monasteries as well which adds to the tourism aspect of this town.

Dharamshala

Located in the beautiful town of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamshala  is widely famous for its large Tibetan community under the control of the  Dalai Lama. While the upper part of Dharamshala, also known as McLeod Ganj, is home to the Tibetan community, the lower part abounds with government offices, schools, local hospital and a few tea gardens.
